1. How and when do I pay for my cleaning and ironing services?
Regular cleaning and/or ironing services (including Airbnb)

If you require regular cleaning and/or ironing services, you pay the monthly introduction fee in advance by standing order to Zauberfee Cleaning Services Ltd for its introduction services.

In addition, you pay your cleaner directly for their cleaning services, ideally in advance by bank transfer or immediately after each completed cleaning and/or ironing session.

One-off cleaning and/or ironing services (including before & after party, before & after moving home, spring clean etc)

If you require one-off cleaning and/or ironing services, you pay the introduction fee in advance by bank transfer to Zauberfee Cleaning Services Ltd for its introduction services.

In addition, you pay your Cleaner directly for their cleaning services, ideally in advance by bank transfer or immediately after each completed cleaning and/or ironing session.

2. How do I book my cleaning and/or ironing visits?
Regular cleaning and/or ironing services (including Airbnb)

If you require regular cleaning and/or ironing services, Zauberfee Cleaning Services Ltd (the introduction agency) will introduce you to one of the friendly independent domestic cleaners on its database who is able to provide the services you require at the time proposed by you. After you have spoken to the cleaner to ensure they are suitable for your specific needs, you will liaise with your cleaner directly in terms of arranging (rescheduling or cancelling) cleaning and/or ironing appointments.

All requests to reschedule or cancel a cleaning visit must be raised to your cleaner directly at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise the full hourly rate owed for the arranged cleaning and/or ironing visit is payable to your cleaner. There is no impact on the agency’s introduction fee when you cancel or rearrange a cleaning and/or ironing appointment. There is no refund of the introduction fee.

If your cleaner is unable to attend, please contact the agency who will try to allocate you a replacement cleaner for the relevant period (although you may need to be flexible with respect to your preferred timing).

 

One-off cleaning and/or ironing services (including before & after party, before & after moving home, spring clean etc)

3. Can I cancel or reschedule already arranged cleaning and/or ironing sessions? If yes, how?

Regular cleaning and/or ironing services (including Airbnb)

If you have subscribed to Zauberfee’s introductions services because you require regular cleaning and/or ironing services, you will liaise with your cleaner directly in terms of arranging, rescheduling or cancelling cleaning and/or ironing appointments.

All requests to reschedule or cancel a cleaning visit must be raised to your cleaner directly at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise the full hourly rate owed for the arranged cleaning and/or ironing visit is payable to your cleaner. 4. Can I have holiday or sickness cover for my regular cleaner?
Yes, if your regular cleaner is unable to attend, please contact the introduction agency and we will endeavour to find you a temporary replacement. Please note that you may need to be flexible in terms of your preferred date and time, especially during holiday periods, when selecting your temporary cleaner.
5. How do I prepare for my cleaner’s visit?
  • Make sure you have all the cleaning products and tools (mop, bucket, sponges, cloths, hand gloves etc) available which your cleaner will require to clean your home and/or to iron.
  • Be mindful of the environment as well as your and your cleaner’s health and buy organic, natural and/or biological cleaners and sprays rather than chemicals and bleach. We strongly advise against the use of chemicals and bleach for cleaning. There are many eco-friendly options available which are equally effective.
  • Make sure all electrical equipment functions and is safe to use, e.g. hoover and iron.
  • Overall, make sure you provide a healthy and safe working environment for your cleaner. Remember your cleaner provides interior cleaning services only.
  • If you require cleaning behind furniture or heavy items, make sure the furniture or other item is moved, as required, prior to your cleaner arriving.
  • Bear in mind your cleaner is not supposed to work at height (i.e. on ladders), on light fittings or move heavy items.
  • Prior to your cleaner’s arrival, please ensure floors and surfaces are clear off toys, papers, magazines, newspapers, shoes, clothes etc. Make sure your home is tidy and surfaces and floors are clear to allow your cleaner to clean them properly and efficiently.
  • If you would like your cleaner to clean dirty dishes, it would be helpful to soak them in water before your cleaner’s arrival to allow for the dishes to be cleaned quickly and easily.
  • After your cleaner has cleaned floors and surfaces, allow the necessary time for floors and surfaces to dry before you walk on them or put things on top of wet surfaces.
  • Prepare clear written instructions for your cleaner using Zauberfee’s Domestic Cleaner Task Sheets. Together with verbal instructions, this will ensure your cleaner will not forget to carry out any of the tasks that are important to you.
6. Do I need to provide any cleaning material or working equipment?

Yes, you are solely responsible for providing all necessary cleaning products and tools as well as electrical equipment.
Cleaning materials include: cleaning sprays and liquids, mop, bucket, cloths, wipes, sponges, scourers, dustpan and brush, broom, hand gloves, hoover, iron, ironing board, ironing spray, washing detergents, feather duster, window squeegee etc.

Please do not use chemicals and bleach. Be kind to the environment, yourself and your cleaner’s health – use eco-friendly options to avoid health issues, allergies or damage to furniture and surfaces.
Please make sure that all cleaning equipment is safe to use and provide a healthy and safe working environment for your cleaner.

7. How do I safeguard my valuable and sentimental household items?
Please make sure you remove or secure items such as cash, jewellery, art, antiques, fragile and breakable items and items of monetary and sentimental value prior to cleaning and/or ironing visits taking place.

If you wish for any such items to remain in situ during a cleaning and/or ironing visit or if you wish for items of monetary or sentimental value to be cleaned, please provide clear and precise instructions to your cleaner and supervise them carefully and diligently during the visit to avoid damages, breakages or any other issues.

8. What are my insurance responsibilities?

You are the cleaner’s employer and responsible for their health and safety while they are working in your home.

Please ensure your insurance adequately covers the following:

  • injury or illness caused to the cleaner with respect to their work for you (e.g. employers liability insurance etc)
  • damage to your property and your possessions caused by your cleaner
  • loss of your property keys by your cleaner (e.g. lock and key replacement)
  • your cleaner’s failure to secure your property
  • property alarm issues caused by your cleaner.
9. How can I terminate my agreement with Zauberfee Cleaning Services Limited?
If you select “Regular Cleaning Services” or “Cleaning Services for Private Landlords”, you enter into your agreement with Zauberfee Cleaning Services Limited for a minimum period of 3 months (referred to as the fixed term).

You cannot terminate the agreement before the end of the minimum period.

At the end of the minimum period, the agreement automatically continues on a monthly rolling basis without you or Zauberfee Cleaning Services Limited having to take any action.

After the end of the minimum period, you can terminate the agreement by giving at least one month’s advance written notice – with your notice period expiring at the end of the calendar month.

For example, this would mean that if, on 23rd February, you decided that you wanted to terminate your agreement, you would need to send a written notice to Zauberfee Cleaning Services Ltd (using our simple “Termination of Agreement Notice” included in the T&C’s published on this website) by email, informing us of your intention to terminate the agreement on 31st March (= one month’s advance notice expiring at the end of the month).

Should you wish to terminate your agreement at the end of the minimum period, you must give at least one month’s advance written notice – with your notice period expiring at the end of the minimum period.

For example, this would mean that if your minimum period ended on 30th June and you decided on 15th May that you would like to terminate the agreement at the end of the minimum period (30th June), you would send a written notice to Zauberfee Cleaning Services Ltd (using our simple “Termination of Agreement Notice” included in the T&C’s published on this website) by email, informing us of your intention to terminate the agreement on 30th June (= one month’s advance notice expiring at the end of the minimum period).

However, in this example, if you decided on 10th June only that you wanted to terminate your agreement at the end of the minimum period (30th June), this would not be possible, as you must give at least one month’s advance notice to expire at the end of the minimum period (30th June). Your earliest possible termination date would now be 31 July (= one month’s advance notice expiring at the end of the month).

10. What do I do, if my cleaning or ironing requirements change, e.g. if I need less or more hours or a different type of service?
We are aware that clients’ needs change from time to time and are specialised in providing services tailored to our clients’ specific requirements. If you need to change any details of the initial agreement (e.g. the number of weekly hours you require, adding/removing ironing services etc), we will ask you to complete and submit an updated Client Information Form. We will endeavour to accommodate your requested changes as quickly as possible. Do not hesitate to contact us and discuss with us, if your needs have changed or if you have any questions, concerns or additional requests. We are keen to go the extra mile to make sure you receive the exact services you require at the times that work for you.
11. What should I do, if I have issues with my cleaner or concerns about the standard of services they provide?
Please notify Zauberfee Cleaning Services by email of any complaints and concerns to do with your cleaner (e.g. unexplained absences, tardiness, quality of cleaning/ironing etc) within 24 hours following the end of the cleaning and/or ironing visit.

We will then liaise with your cleaner and try to assist you in resolving performance issues.

In addition, we strongly recommend that you are present during cleaning and ironing visits, especially at the beginning of the cleaning/ironing visit to provide the necessary instructions and a task list, and at the end of the cleaning/ironing appointment to carry out an inspection and to raise any concerns immediately and request any corrections directly and instantly from your cleaner.

However, if there are issues with your cleaner that cannot be resolved, please contact the introduction agency who will be happy to introduce you to another independent domestic cleaner on its database who is able to provide the services you require at the time proposed by you.

12. What are my responsibilities with respect to my cleaner?
Please treat your cleaner with courtesy and respect.

In addition, you are the cleaner’s employer and responsible for providing a safe and healthy working environment. You are also responsible for keeping a record of all payments made to your cleaner. Zauberfee Cleaning Services Limited publishes a Monthly Time Sheet on its website which will enable you to record attendance and monies paid to your cleaner. We strongly recommend you use this form. You are required to keep completed and signed Monthly Time Sheets for up to three years from the end of the tax year they relate to. In addition, please be sensible and reasonable when instructing your cleaner to carry out work for you. Please bear in mind your domestic cleaner provides cleaning and ironing services only. Please do not ask your cleaner to look after a child or pet or to go shopping.

Please do not ask your cleaner to lift or move heavy items, work at height or on ladders or work outside (e.g. in the garden) or on your property’s exterior.
